What is Stalking?

Stalking is defined by the federal government as a course of conduct directed at an individual that places that person in reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury to that person, a family member, or someone close to that person. Or causes, attempts to cause, or would reasonably expect to cause emotional distress to that person, a family member, or someone close to that person.

So, stalking is essentially a pattern of repeated and unwanted attention, harassment, contact, or any other course of conduct that would cause a reasonable person to fear

What Do I Do If I'm Being Stalked?

Consider the following tips:
Avoid the person stalking you
Make it clear that you wish for them to stop contacting you
Keep all texts, calls, emails, messages, gifts, etc.
Inform those close to you of the situation
Keep a journal or log of all of the incidents
Reach out to a local domestic violence agency or to local law enforcement
